INLS 187: Information Security

Short Assignment: Future Forecast

The goal of this assignment is to think creatively about the future of a topic related to information security. Choose a technology, product, service, legislative area, social phenemonon or other topic.

Specific requirements for this assignment are:

  1. Introduce the topic and its importance. 5 points.
  2. Provide the background on the topic, including citation to relevant literature as appropriate. 5 points.
  3. Evaluate the current state of the topic. E.g., what are the most important challenges, uses and unknowns? 5 points.
  4. Provide a future forecast for the topic. What do you think will happen, when, and with what level of confidence do you make this prediction? 5 points.

The outcome of your work should be a Web page (linked to the Projects page for the class) with your written report on the above. Effective presentation, communication and use of language are criteria for all 4 requirements.

Your forecast should be about 500-1500 words.
