INLS 181: Internet Applications
BRIEF GUIDELINES FOR THE ONLINE RESUME ASSIGNMENT
These notes are to supplement in-class discussions about the
assigment.
Overall goals:
- To design an effective layout for your online resume
- To present your background and skills in an appropriate order and level of detail
- To include hyperlinks to external resources as appropriate,
building components of your personal online portfolio
- To insure your HTML is valid and works across platforms
General format
There are numerous books and online sites to help you
with resume design. Keep your resume simple - you might even
want more than one version for different purposes (e.g., one
more academic, one more professional).
There are no particular guidelines, other than that
the HTML must work and you should include at least two
hyperlinks:
- One hyperlink should be a "mailto:" to send you
email
- Another hyperlink should go to an online project you
have done or will do. If you don't have any, just link to your
main INLS181 page
